Shame more from the Club have not entered, couple of stragglers entered late. Club Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run: Part of the organising team, and honoured to be associated RBRR is the best car event in the UK, not probably, it is! 1970 GT6 Mk.2: Royal Blue 6 RBRRs (98, 00,02,04,06 & 10, one failure 14), 2 10CRs (03 & 07). 2 HCRs 1 LCC, lots of Autosolos and numerous track days. Bought in 1983, crikey where did the time go! Lots of modifications, now fitted with a revvy 2000cc engine and she is going very well. GT6 are fantastic little cars that are very under-rated, mainly by people who have not driven one, its slow in and fast out! 1969 2.5Pi Mk.1: Slate Grey 4 10CRs (05, 09, 15 & 17), 4 RBRRs (08, 12, 16 and 187), 3 HCRs, 2 LCCs. A few alloy panels, does need the pi kit fitting. Bought April '04. Needs paint! Just fitted some new 7J Minilites-not copies! The car goes like a train on SUs, so why change! The car just sits and waits and waits and when needed is brilliant fun to drive. Triumph's best design? Impending engine and body work this (2019) Autumn and Winter. 1967 Spitfire mk2: Wedgewood Blue. Bought November 2010. Almost seems civilised. Car has done a RBRR (Dave Picton 2010). Back on the road since March 2017. Raw little car, but fun. Has lots of modifications, nothing too outlandish! 1970 TR6 Maroon. Bought May 2018. Since pruchase: Full suspension re-build, new clutch and propshaft plus re-built driveshafts. Goes well. Blimey, lots more done now, gearbox replaced (Canley Classics unit), 7J black minilites c/w Uniroyal tyres (Crikey, un-stickable), Revington's Targa springs. Now needs some engine work and some brakes. Otherwise, well on its way to becoming a Club Triumph type car, i.e. one that is actually used! Previously owned: Triumph Dolomite Sprint (Now owned by Paul Hughes) Herald 1200 Coupe on mk2 chassis (Now owned by Jess Cook and being properly used) Vitesse mk2 Conv: Sold in 1983, still on the road! Various Citroens and Pugs DD: Focus ST Diesel...torquey!

Best way to get the 10/10 for artistic impression. Only works if you have 30+ year old tyres that are rock hard. Has the added benefit of reducing the loads on the suspension considerably. "Dale" posts: 674 Vice Chairman Club Torque Editor Comp Committee Member North London & Herts group joined on Mon 3rd Nov 1980	posted Mon 9th May 2016 reply 54 of 60 May I be the first person to say here (clearly not first on Facebook though) well done to all the marshals, scrutineers, timekeepers, organisers and others who helped run the day, particularly Nigel Abdullah for doing by far the lion's share of the work prior to the day & a fair bit on the day. I would like to say a particular thank you to those marshals from other clubs who came along & helped to make the day run. Many competitors may not have realised this sort of thing goes on but Nigel went to a recent Oxford MC Solo to help marshal/timekeep & we bagsied David Smith (aka Shirley? ) and possibly another marshal too in exchange. It's this sort of inter-club co-operation in times when it's getting harder to find enough support to run these events, which allows them to take place. I don't know about anyone else but I had such a good time yesterday that I will be volunteering to help marshal/timekeep for another club myself in the future. If you don't feel similarly moved but did take part as a competitor yesterday, then perhaps you could voice some thanks and it might make finding all the necessary timekeepers next time easier. Maude: '66 2000 (for now) in amazingly good nick with Webasto sunroof, manual now with o/d. Much electrickery, Alfa seatery, power steerery, front suspendery (ooer!) & a few other clever bits also now done. Derek: '63 (ex Derek Pollock) TR4 with Surrey top in "Triumph Racing Green" according to the original bill of sale. Probably the best, most original TR4 in the country if not the World - and that's not an idle boast. Polish them if you must, but don't stick them on the mantelpiece - drive them (carefully, cos the number of wheels in contact with the black stuff [or the other end of the driveshaft] is liable to change when you least expect it!

For those that can't view that I'll upload them to the CT Photo Album soon. To reiterate what Dale has said, I had a fantastic time yesterday, and it's my first event of this type, but hopefully not the last. I have done a grass auto-test before, but I didn't enjoy that. Yesterdays Tarmac event though was brilliant, even if I was in totally the wrong car. I am now on the hunt for an LSD though. Thanks to all the marshalls, scrutineers, volunteers, and people that took part, and I hope everyone had fun. I also had the wrong car - too big, underpowered, auto box and non-power steering - but it's the only one I've got and I'm happy with it I wasn't sure about entering because of only having the 2000, but I'm glad that I did. Had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Great fun, great company and gorgeous weather - perfect way to spend a nice quiet Sunday! The Gaydon Motor Centre costs a lot to hire out for the day, so the Comps Team are thinking of other places that we could use in the general vicinity. There may be another one in Gaydon next year if a suitable venue isn't found.
