I think my fuel tank is ok. I went out tonight with a torch and was amazed to see the inside of the tank looking as good as new! I wondering if it was ever replaced but can't remember. I've tried to take a photo while shining the torch but can't get the camera in far enough. I've peered at all of the bottom and it looks clean. ![]() |

Thanks Beans. I've been reading your thread on t'Kreng and feel more inspired! I have Hamilton adjustable coilovers for the rear and am planning on getting their adjustable front strut set up too. I see that you have experimented with some unusual front struts. Are these similar to Hamiltons? My car will only be for road use so maybe I'm going a bit ott, but I really like the idea of raising and lowering the cars height. I want to go as low as I can without bottoming out! |

This is the Hamilton website. They have built a really smart, 'no expense spared' rally car which you have probably seen. Very interesting build info on the website as well as the competition parts they sell. I've got the rears so really need the fronts as well! |

In my case the front struts were adapted to fit AST's stock shock absorbers (necessary as they have a slightly larger diameter) ![]() 1976 TR7 FHC (currently undergoing some TLC ...) 1980 TR7 DHC (a.k.a. For anyone into TR7 rally cars this dvd is a must! It is random footage of TR7V8s in action at various amateur events and features many ex works cars. I bought a copy and have to keep watching it! OOM 514R is on there and looks stunning! There are other equally stunning 7V8s in action too. You don't see any races or results, it's just random footage taken over many decades since the 80s. |

I'll check that out Benzo, but been at it all day again. This weekend I finished seam sealing the rear floor pan welds, removed the rear bulkhead plate as mentioned by Beans (luckily not much rust behind), treated and painted the plate and behind, refitted the plate with seam sealer, painted the rear underside and wheel arches with red Rustoleum gloss, fitted sender to tank, tightened the filler and breather hoses, fitted the tank, fitted the fuel pump and hoses up to the union connector under rear wheel arch, fitted rear bulkhead brackets, fitted the Pro Flex bushes to rear suspension arms (What a pig they are to fit! Was hoping they would have been two piece like Super Flex I've used in the past on my Montego Turbos) but unfortunately didn't get round to fitting the axle. Was hoping to try out my Revolutions. Maybe next weekend. The fuel pump is a new Huco 13 3000 from S&S. The instructions are very brief and I was going to fit it vertically but after checking the internet I fitted it horizontally. Not sure if it would have mattered? It is marked 'Top' but this could mean vertical or horizontal! Would have rang Steve at S&S but it was Sunday afternoon ![]() |
