Can you guys please share some pics of the TR7 shades of Red? Starting to think about colours.

Is this Pimento Red? Ruddy i think was the owner.

Here are a couple of pages from an old TR7 colour chart.  Several others colours were used especially late in production.

Paul Ruddy's TR7V8 indeed was Pimento.
Vermilion has a slight orange shade over it.

I saved this selection from a web page I found in my collection.  The colours are not very good especially the vermillion which is very orange. Colours used on Spitfires I think.

Not easy to get accurate colour on web pages without very careful calibration of the image and monitor.  You really need to see with your eyes, car body colour is also very dependent on the conditions.  When I was being taught spraying we used to take panels out into the daylight in the yard - they were sometimes very different from under the lights in the booth or in the workshop.

Oooh, do it in Magenta!! I have not seen a magenta TR7/8 before!!... probably with good reason haha. I like Magenta on late  GT6's, but I think it's pretty terrible otherwise.

Magenta looks brilliant on a Dolomite Sprint too (as Mad Mart showed us  )

Sorry, yes, you're right the Dolly Sprint looks good in Magenta too, I forgot that one!

Anyone brave enough to do an Acclaim in Magenta??

When I had my tour of the Lotus factory we were told one of the first Elise's built was specified in Magenta as the owner loved the colour on his Spitfire in the 70's

How was the tour Colin? I've bought my Dad a tour ticket for Christmas, and then for his birthday I'm upgrading it to include a tour of the Historic Team Lotus workshops... and yes, I am going with him haha.

It was many years ago now, one of my mates had just bought a 111S, and he organised the tour off that back of that (we also did TVR and Jaguar around the same time)

I found it really interesting, and it was free then!

They have a really smart new test track paid for by the Malaysians up at Hethel now.

I drove the old test track in my Spitfire many years ago, the new one is much more closely guarded.

I think most of the site is on Google Streetview now.

Ah, I see, must have been early to mid 2000s then?

Of course, now we can't do TVR, and I do Jaguar on a nearly weekly basis, and of course you have to pay now, or I'd suggest it could be a good trip for the Club to have a tour of Castle Brom.

Hmm, I'll save myself for when I actually go then, wouldn't want to ruin it by looking on Google haha.
