The hatch looks better on the TR than on the Datsun, & it would make a very practical car with the enlarged boot space. It's half way between the 7 & the 4 seat hatchback lynx development, so I like it. Le Mans 2007, 08, 09, 10 & 11 |

Quoted from Nick Jones I have been considering a new colour and bright orange sounds ideal, but its not mine since I don't have a towing hitch fitted. The thought of mixing a TR7 with water sounds frightening as you would see it dissolve in front of you...... Howard Le Mans 2007, 08, 09, 10 & 11 |

I like it. I actually think it looks quite a bit better than Mike Collins' Tracer; certainly better integrated. I remember looking hard at using a sunbeam (?) glass hatch and SD1 rear lights to make a sort of short wheelbase Broadside, which might have come out better than this. But this looks like a lot less work to close the gaps between the hatch and the 7's body. I think, with a better engine than the 8v, it could make a nice 2+1&1/2 sports hatch. I take it something like S&S's convertible back seat would fit? 1980 Fake TR7 Sprint convertible A TR7 16V rust over blue. 1973 Dolomite Sprint black over mimosa. 1970 13/60 Herald Convertible - with CV suffix to Chassis Number. |

Quoted from Beans I think, given the nature of where this idea may have been concocted, it might be closer to the beauty being in the eye of the beer-holder. In all fairness guys, someone's put a lot of work into this car, and built the car THEY wanted. They might not like our cars. I agree it's an interesting modification, but I think it's quite well done, even if the styling isn't to your individual tastes... For me, it sits too high, but that's my only criticism. 62 Vitesse 1600 - Slammed & modified 67 2000 - Fitted with 2.5 o/d - 2012 RBRR, 2015 Essex Rally, 2016 HCR, 2016 RBRR 67 2000 Estate - Dormant 70 Herald 13/60 - First car, many bits 77 CZ 125 Sport - 70 miles on the clock 77 Kawasaki KM90 - Shop hack 81 Yamaha DT125 - Many bits 88 Ginetta G4/4 - Dead 88 BMW E30 320i - For Sale 89 Citroen AX GT - Rally car! 90 BMW E30 318iS - Building to FIA spec 90 Mazda Eunos 1.6 - 'Popeye' 93 BMW 530i - Donor 95 BMW E34 540i - 4L V8 |

Quoted from Jonny-Jimbo It does a bit, but that should be easily cured. Somthing like that as a 4 seat or even 2+2 would definitely interest me; especially with a Sprint lump in it. Actually, looking at it again (the rear 3/4 view) I think part of the reason it looks odd is because the boot lid has been welded shut and smoothed over, it looks like the rear lights sit to low to the bumper with a large expanse of bodywork between the top of the rear lights and the hatch, so it would have been good to move the rear lights up in the body I think. 62 Vitesse 1600 - Slammed & modified67 2000 - Fitted with 2.5 o/d - 2012 RBRR, 2015 Essex Rally, 2016 HCR, 2016 RBRR 67 2000 Estate - Dormant 70 Herald 13/60 - First car, many bits 77 CZ 125 Sport - 70 miles on the clock 77 Kawasaki KM90 - Shop hack 81 Yamaha DT125 - Many bits 88 Ginetta G4/4 - Dead 88 BMW E30 320i - For Sale 89 Citroen AX GT - Rally car! 90 BMW E30 318iS - Building to FIA spec 90 Mazda Eunos 1.6 - 'Popeye' 93 BMW 530i - Donor 95 BMW E34 540i - 4L V8 |

I think you are to something Jonny-Jimbo. Rover SD1 rear lights (like the Grinnalls had ) fitted a bit up the rear panel would improve the back view PLEASE help us to maintain a friendly forum, use Report post button if you see anything you are unhappy with. Thanks. |

XR3 seats curve in a lot more than that at the front, I did wonder if they were Citroen BX or something but they're not that either... 62 Vitesse 1600 - Slammed & modified67 2000 - Fitted with 2.5 o/d - 2012 RBRR, 2015 Essex Rally, 2016 HCR, 2016 RBRR 67 2000 Estate - Dormant 70 Herald 13/60 - First car, many bits 77 CZ 125 Sport - 70 miles on the clock 77 Kawasaki KM90 - Shop hack 81 Yamaha DT125 - Many bits 88 Ginetta G4/4 - Dead 88 BMW E30 320i - For Sale 89 Citroen AX GT - Rally car! 90 BMW E30 318iS - Building to FIA spec 90 Mazda Eunos 1.6 - 'Popeye' 93 BMW 530i - Donor 95 BMW E34 540i - 4L V8 |
