The replacement front springs I fitted 6 years / 30k miles ago have gone soft as have the rear springs which have been replaced again about 3 years ago.

Can anyone recommend a source of better quality standard springs or NOS that will last longer than this?

I've just replaced my 30 year old front springs because the MOT man keeps complaining they're very corroded. I got them from TSSC shop. They seem to work but they've only been on a month so I can't tell you if they're any good!

I believe that Revington uses a different spring manufacturer then the other TR7 specialists.
I put a set of Revingtons 1" lowered 200 lbs/inch springs on the DHC in 2007.
I had to replace the rears after 7 years, but that is mainly due to the way the car is used.
That is for longer trips and holidays, so always with a fully laden boot and two people in the car.

As an after thought, are you sure the problems lies with the springs?
You say they have gone soft but it might well be that your shock absorbers are on the way out.

Hi Theo

Thanks for the info on your springs - 7 years for the rear set isn't bad considering how we use our cars and most certainly better than 4 years. I will give them a call and see if they he them in stock.

Shock absorbers will be replaced at the same time, but problem is that the cars is sitting so low I can't even get a jack under the suspension.... Swapping the rear springs is easy, but front are a pain so really don't want to do that eery few years.

I am looking forward to the 10CR now I can see again - first cataract op last week has made a big difference and the second eye s to be done next week.
