Club Triumph

We live in oxford, I know of no local groups in the area,  the other groups are to far away for us to go to,  don't know how many club members that live in Oxford or surronding area but there are plenty of  great pubs to meet at, to have a laugh! and chat to like minded people.  I think it would be great if Oxford had a local group, maybe there are others who think the same.

Not to sure where to start,  or where to go from here but we are willing to help. We would welcome any ideas.

Well, you could try reading the other threads in this section for some ideas.

Other than that here's a a few pointers.

1)  Find a venue that is easily found, has a car park and is welcoming to car clubs - I suppose ideally with staff who are into classics!

2)  Ask John Snook for a list of club members in a 15 to 25 mile radius (make sure this doesn't take in the catchment area of another local group) - you will need to quote postcodes ideally.

3) Write to the members listed (and claim back from the club your postal expenses etc) and invite them to your first meeting.

4) When they arrive get their e-mail addresses and set up a mailing list which is very handy for keeping in touch.

5) Follow it up with some of the suggestions in the other threads.

also, when you have decided on a meeting place and day, get Derek Pollock to include details in the mag. or as a one off, he will insert it in the next newsletter. (the deadline for the next mag. has passed.

Good news!  We have a venue,  spoke to some-one who runs an old coaching inn today, we have been going there on and off for 16 years now and were more than happy for us to have members meet there when ever we want.  Now the work begins.

Where abouts in Oxfordshire are you intending to meet?

The meeting place is Stadhampton, 5miles east of Oxford.  Although may have to change the venue as I have a list of members but some of them are a bit out of the way, and may not be interested.  Still working on it.  I  am determed this will succeed, but it depends on wether people are interested or not.  Will be writing to members when everything is in place.

Have had a lot of advice on what to do.  :)
