CLUB TRIUMPH SUMMER PICNIC
Highclere Castle, Berks

A warm sunny day produced an excellent turnout for Club Triumph's Summer Picnic on 9th June with more than 100 cars attending. As well as enjoying a relaxed picnic, meeting other owners and seeing other cars, visitors could tour the house and gardens at a specially reduced rate. The house is the ancestral home of Lord Carnarvon, of Tutankamen fame, and features an exhibition of Egyptian artifacts in the basement.

One car which aroused much interest was the Herald climax of Club member Arthur Stroud. This car was modified by Jack Brabham in the early sixties and fitted with a Coventry Climax engine, giving it performance similar to the later Vitesse. It is believed to be the only survivor of this model, and was recently the subject of article in Classic Cars magazine.
