I'm off to the International GT6 meet at Bad Vilbel near Frankfurt in the GT6 next weekend. I know there are a few other Brits going over, plus GT6 owners from mainland Europe.  So if anyone on here is going say hello, no doubt catch up in the bar

Don,

It was mentioned in my GT6 column over on the dark side (The TSSC Courier) quite a bit over the last few months and also on my facebook.

This was the 5th year of the event, it moves locations each time, so far it's been at locations in Holland and Germany and is just organised by GT6 enthusiasts rather then any specific club Next year it's gping to be near Bremen in Germany but it clashes with the RBRR so I won't be going. The following year it's likely to be in England somewhere near Southampton though, just down the road from me....

Damn, they gathered more GT6 than we did in 2016.
Nice pics, it seems you had fun. And I can see the twin sister of my GT6 too!

Just wondering why the official decal of the event (is it?) show a Spitfire...

Its a GT6 convertible on the logo, owned by the organiser Harald Hummel, it's registered as a GT6 although it's obviously got a Spitfire body tub fitted. Harald was explaining to me over the weekend how to be classed as a historic vehicle it has to be based on a GT6 chassis/VIN and not a 2 litre engine in a spitfire, it seems a bigger engine into a Spitfire is an issue but not a change of body tub onto a GT6 chassis under the current German TUV regulations. Around 1/3 of the GT6s at the event were rebuilt into convertibles, seems like a very popular mod to carry out in Europe.

Picture Below

By the way, I've submitted an article to Dale for Club Torque magazine on the event, hopefully this will be published.

Around 20, pretty good for mainland Europe when you consider that we had 70 at the 50th anniversary line up last year in the UK and there are a lot more GT6s in the UK than mainland Europe. About 1/3 of these were modified into convertibles though which seems top be very popular on the continent.

Also the first night stay I had in Wuresellen was pretty close the Rolduc across the border into Germany.
