Having had a flat tyre, due to a nail, in the rear offside which, together with the other back one, are 'cream crackered', I thought that I would use it as an excuse to fit an original set of wheels that I acquired, some time back. The wheels that will be coming off will be 5" Dolomite or Spitfire wheels. Now I have an original set of wheelnuts that I've got somewhere, but unfortunately I cannot find them at this moment........soooo, my question is can the original wheels be fitted with the current wheelnuts or am I going to have to buy some more? Hopefully, my set will turn up - I put them safe somewhere - always a mistake!!!

I think they will fit under the hubcaps. If not I may have  used set somewhere.....
Thinking of selling the 5J wheels? May be interested if so!

Spitfire Zetec project is started work progressing slooooowly on the road!

Check that the current wheelnuts  have a domed end to fit the recesses in the steel wheels as the fit of the nuts to the tapered recesses is in part what keeps the nuts tight as the dolomite sprint nuts are flat bottomed and are totally incorrect for the purpose .
Please do not use them if this is the case ,

Thanks for the response, guys! Am happy to offload the wheels, Clive, as they will just be sitting in a lock-up otherwise - especially if the deal includes some wheelnuts... ...They would need blasting & painting or stoving/powder coating or what-have-you...Drop me a PM - I'm up near Leek in Staffs. though...
Thanks for the advice about Freelander studs & nuts, Colin....I'll hang fire on that for the moment as I have a Scimitar that needs new studs on the rear nearside & I've got to the point whereby the ring gear needs sorting on the Herald (car often needs a little push backwards or forwards in top as the starter is 'meshing' quite a lot now...) I shall file that away in the memory bank, though...
