Dear all,

Just wanted to check something.

I just wanted to check that the brake master cyl reservoir should be the bigger of the two reservoirs;  is this correct?

The car I've recently acquired has the larger reservoir on the clutch master cylinder and this just doesn't feel right.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Jonathan

That looks like a modern equivalent usually advertised as an "upgrade," possibly Land Rover.
In my personal experience i found it needed a lot more leg to get decent stopping power and went back to the original which is indeed larger than the clutch one and should be .070 bore (GMC209) iirc.
Steve.

And as above, brake master 0.7 bore, clutch 0.65 (or 5/8!) stamped on the side of the cylinder.

Larger capacity clutch master not an issue, small on brakes is! Simple answer is to get an extension as used on some early heralds etc http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/.....-extension-reservoir but I too suspect it has been fitted with the Landrover 0.75 master that will make the brakes a bit harder and less "feel"
