Here are a couple of pictures of an ex-Works coupé rally car which took part in the GP de Tours.

Robson's "The Works Triumphs" says that only Spitfires and a 2000 were works entered for the '65 Monte.
Confirmed by this entry list: https://www.ewrc-results.com/final.php?e=14889
No works Triumphs at all in '64, Vitesses (1600!) and a TR4 in '63, none in '62.
The last Herald coupe to be entered in the Monte was in '61, and that wasn't an official 'works' entry, although prepared by them.

Unless this is that car, perhaps it was a similar, later effort, works prepared, privately entered (he says, feeling kind)

I can only pass on what the owner told me and what is written on the card. I just thought it might be of interest.

It is, as a nice looking car.
However the detail card reminds me of a certain GT6 I see at shows regularly which is listed by the owner as the 'only one in the country'.... I must park mine beside it some time....
Always take owner's descriptions of their pride and joy with a pinch of salt.

If it was made by man, it can be dismantled and rebuilt by man. Usually just not as easily.

It is of interest, John.
But there are so many myths.
Graham's book's are some of the few that can tell if we should print the legend.

It does look a nice car, but has got the sponsor freckles, when in the day they didn't.
Here's a (signed) pic of 6002VC and another Vitesse on the 63 Monte, at Tabac - no stickers at all, except the number.  Not even the rally plaque.

It is fixed to the bonnet top on the right hand side front.

The rear one was fitted to the left hand side of the number plate on the boot lid.

Ah!   I can see it now on the Monte pic!

But that's all.   No sponsors logos,a modern habit.
