I thought as much but was not sure. I am recommissioning a MK2 Vitesse that has had the side rails replaced.
Looks like someone replaced side rail, cut off rotten end of out rigger and left off the Stiffening plate between the two. Nothing like taking your car to a "professional" to get things done properly.
Looks like more fabrication and welding today, after replacing the out rigger with the body on.
still have the other side to do along with rotoflex coupling, oh joy
