Hello
I have my Vitesse tank that I am fitting into my car which has a 13/60 rear tub.
When I offer the tank up there is no fitting in the spare wheel well for the bottom of the tank but that is an easy fix.
What is causing an issue is the tank top mount.
Am I missing a bracket or is it different design and I need to make an adaptor.

You have a small bracket missing.

There were photos of the required part on here a few months ago

Yes, the bracket for the boot lid stay? I thought I had a photo handy but can't find it at present ...

Vitesse tub and 13/60 tubs are substantially the same.  Later 13/60s even came with the larger (Vitesse) tank from the factory IIRC.

There is a simple (easily made) bracket missing - pic gives the general idea - all parts are Triumph std except the gas strut.

Would be easy to make with a bit of box section cut down and drilled to suit.

its a flat plate approx 25mm long

also this spaces the ratchet stay from fouling the boot when in closed position or it contacts the corner of the tank.

It's not totally flat, as you can see in Nick's picture, it wraps around at the edges to make it a bit stronger (polar moment of area or something like that...), hence my suggestion of cutting down a bit of box section rather than using flat plate and hammering over the edges.

The one in my pic was made from a flat piece of 1.6mm sheet with the edges bent over.  Very easy.

On my Herald I had the same problem, even with that bracket. I just used some washers as spacers, no worries as the boot is usually shut.

It should be mentioned that in the original installation, the boot stay bracket goes betweent eh small tank bracket and the mounting on the body. It may not make enough of a difference, but it will make some,

Cheers,
Bill.

Would it not make it last a bit longer as the screws would be in double shear, and not single shear? Less likely to fatigue the bracket?
