Hi all
Having to buy a new hood cover for my vitesse and was wondering if anyone has had good service from any of the suppliers..
I will be fittings myself and probably a Everflex pvc due to budget at the moment. I was also thinking of deleting the rear quarter light windows from it as they are the first parts to split. So any advise and tips on fitting will be good as well as any info on which company to buy from for quality of fit and why.
Thanks Mike.

I would NOT recommend deleting those quarter lights. The convertible with hood up already sacrifices a fair bit of visibility; I would not wish to make that yet worse. And for whatever it's worth, I've never had one of those windows split, even though I've had tops literally disintegrate all around clouded but still intact windows!

Have done the same search for provider and Don Trimming Company http://www.donhoods.com seems to be highly recommended. Send me your e-mail PM and will send you some fitting guidelines (pdf-file) published in World Triumph in 2013

My PVC hood with quarterlights is 17 years old and no signs of issues with the windows. I do value the extra visibility too.

i would however suggest that if you can possibly run to it, to fit a mohair or similar, as its much quieter at speed. i did 12 miles in mine today with the hood up (a rarity unless its pi$$ing it down!) and i had forgotten just how noisy a thin pvc hood is...

i had a hood made by Don triiming in Birmingham and fitted by a local specialist.

its okay bit not the best quality fit wise. the fitter recommended Don trimming was pretty disapionted with the overall fit .

id check they are not having another bad day at the office which essentially was what i was told, to late when its on the car and £500 including fitting later

£500 including fitting later

That was very expensive for fitting a hood I have never found a problem with Don Trimming hoods, I have fitted lots of them over the years. Maybe the person fitting it not so good "bad workman blames his tools" as they say!

not much i can do when its on the car that said its ok i have no problem with just looks a bit to short to me on the side edges

Perhaps you are a victim of the famous tub spread ?  - it would seem Logical if that were to be  the case, that around the b post the Hood was a bit short - but I am just speculating.
