Ref.. noise from uv joint. So today I put new vu joints in. When I put things back together and took car for test drive the knocking sound has gone. But there is now a rattle or ticking comeing from what I would say is about 300mm along the drive shaft away from the diff. Now have looked up in my auto book and it says the strap drive prop comes apart  and need grease inside. Could this cause a rattle or ticking sound?

Is the tick constant or just on take up and letting off drive?

So its around the wheel zone, or do you mean 300mm down the props shaft?
strap drives do need a grease , many throw them away and fit a normal prop.

do you have wheel tims ???  They can rattle welll.

hub needles rollers,

brake shoes ??

or there is there still some float in your new UJ

A ticking driveshaft UJ is really cheap and easy to fix. Order a selection of thicker circlips from Canleys. From under the car replace them one at a time, fitting the thickest you can get in. A rubber mallet will help to move the UJ sufficiently.
I'd put up with ticking for years and sorted it in seconds.

Its important you realy make sure the circlips are Fully located,  or one can pop out on your first test drive .
