hi need to replace the dynamo on my 1965 1600 vitesse , its the c40L type any ideas where to buy one not had much luck finding one new or good used paul

You probably don't want me mention the free one you missed out in here yesterday then...

I would have thought some of the traders would have had a dynamo on the shelf. (Paddocks £64 inc, Holden and Auto Electrical Supplies also list them)

There is also the company that always goes to Stoneleigh and has a trailer full of recon ones for sale. Perhaps someone can remember his name.

Is now the time to do an alternator conversion perhaps?

I scored a full rebuild kit for not too much loot on fleabay a couple of years ago, fairly easy job too. Could be worth a look as it seemed to be new modern rather than NOS parts so presumably not a finite supply.
