Hi all.

Would anyone be able to confirm that the attached picture looks like the barrel from a Herald/Vitesse bonnet lock?

The barrel comes from a Rodark pannier on my Triumph T110. I had to drill it out as the previous owner lost the key and there was no way to access the back of the lock. I now need a new one, and after an entire day of researching, I think it might just be from a Herald/Vitesse/GT6 etc.

It's a shade under 1/2" in diameter and 1" long + the collar. In particular, the new one needs to have the same profile at its bottom end as the ones in the pictures.

The other picture with the key and barrel parts is one I borrowed from another thread about a chap that was working on his Vitesse bonnet lock. This is where I got the idea that mine might be the same.

I've found several pattern locks for sale. Does anyone know if these come apart like the original ones so I can get the barrel out?

Sorry to post a motorcycle question on here, but I guess it is Triumph car related, and besides, I didn't know who else to ask!

There are no bonnet locks on a Triumph Herald, but it does look like the boot lock, they have a square end like that.

Can't say for sure though.

There are many Heralds and Vitesses fitted with optional bonnets locks that do look just like the lower image.

Why not just fit a new barrel and use the key supplied?

Several traders stock the bits including my favourite Canleys Classics:

It is a glovebox lock for a Herald.

I was going to say that it looks like a Herald glovebox lock.

Might have a spare one knocking around... If I can find it.
