By the way, it was mentioned previously in this thread, that the car appeared in the paper in 1999.  I got in touch with the Daily Telegraph, and they sent me this image of the piece.

I am sure many of us myself included have "projects" that go beyond the 12 year mark.
One of mine is at least 33 years but "its nearly ready, only 4 weeks work needed"

But a great story and good luck with the restoration. As many have said Canleys are the boys for this car.
